Getting started with Ledger® Live is your first step toward managing and securing your crypto assets with confidence. Whether you’re new to crypto or a seasoned investor, Ledger Live provides a user-friendly interface paired with the unmatched security of your Ledger hardware wallet.
🔽 Step 1: Download Ledger Live
To ensure you’re using a secure version of the app:
- Go to the official Ledger website: https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live
- Choose the appropriate version for your device:
- Windows, macOS, or Linux
- iOS or Android for mobile users
⚠️ Never download Ledger Live from third-party sites. Fake versions can compromise your crypto.
🔌 Step 2: Set Up Your Ledger Device
Once Ledger Live is installed:
- Connect your Ledger Nano S, S Plus, or Nano X via USB (or Bluetooth on Nano X).
- Enter your PIN to unlock the device.
- Ledger Live will prompt you to either:
- Set up as new device
- Restore from recovery phrase
If you’re restoring an existing wallet, use your 24-word recovery phrase to regain access.

- Ledger will generate your 24-word recovery phrase during setup (if it’s a new device).
- Write it down and store it offline in a safe place.
- Never share your recovery phrase — Ledger will NEVER ask for it.
